Onboarding and induction
You’ve carried out a recruitment process and identified the person you want to offer the job to. Now all you have to do is ensure they are sent all the correct paper work, you undertake all necessary checks including right to work in the UK and references satisfactory to you and maybe a health declaration and proof of qualifications. Let Blue Allium be your resourcing partner and undertake all this for you.

Next you need to ensure that your new employee acquires all the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours in order to become an effective member of your team. You will have designated a probation period in the role for these skills to be acquired and will meet with the new employee on a regular basis to provide support and work through the probation process. Wellbeing strategies and support
Work with Blue Allium to undertake research on which wellbeing strategies will benefit your employees and your business. You can do this by undertaking online questionnaires or holding focus groups for example. Once you have established that then you need to decide the right scheme for your business: in-house, third party or hiring specialists as and when. You will then want to measure the impact of the wellbeing strategy and you can do this by seeing an increase in productivity, a decrease in days absent, a decrease in employee turnover, higher retention rates and increasing levels of overall employee satisfaction.

Health and Safety policies
If you employ more than 5 people you need to ensure you have health and safety policies written down and available to your team. However, you still need health and safety polices even if you employ less than 5 people, clearly a sized down version.

Work with Blue Allium to incorporate health and safety into induction, carry out risk assessments for home working and pregnant women, ergonomic risk assessments, COVID secure work place risk assessments etc. and ensure that all necessary health and safety training is undertaken.

Reward Management
Reward management is about ensuring you have a system of strategies and polices that reward employees fairly and transparently in accordance with some form of job evaluation system demonstrating the value of the job to the business. Exit interviews
If undertaken properly exit interviews can give you insight into your business helping you establish reasons for employees leaving. They are an opportunity for you to find out what your business is doing well in and what areas need improvement.

The information from an exit interview can feed into the recruitment process where you may then decide to alter the job slightly taking on board feedback, or you may want to look at the remuneration package if you find employees are leaving and citing reward as the main reason for moving on or the data may identify a training need for managers.
