Mary's breadth of knowledge and expertise is second to none. She's helped us to navigate some tricky issues & concerns and increased our confidence in dealing with them. Mary is prompt to respond, always available for questions & no question is too 'stupid'. She's also an absolute pleasure to work with.

People Development and Learning Manager - Early Years Wales

Early Years Wales commissioned Mary (Blue Allium HR) to deliver sessions to the childcare sector across Wales, and these have been well received by learners. Mary has a way of explaining the GDPR process in a clear and concise manner that gives the participants confidence in the subject. She provides a lot of valuable content and tailors this to her audience

Paul Barrett - C Measey Ltd

We have worked with Blue Allium HR for the past 4 years. During that time Mary has provided advice and support to us on HR related matters ranging from an annual audit of our HR procedures and practices, GDPR preparedness and regular review of documentation and HR advice on specific employee relations issues. She has also kept us up to date on employee issues linked to the pandemic that might affect our business.

We are a company that does not have our own in-house HR so to have an HR resource we can call on when needed is invaluable. We have always found Mary to be proactive, pragmatic and efficient at dealing with our queries. We would have no hesitation in recommending Blue Allium HR.

Jon Rosser - Chief Executive, World Child Cancer

Mary has been a huge support to World Child Cancer, always available to give timely, practical advice on a range of HR topics – for example, salary benchmarking, redundancy and disciplinary legal guidance, furlough rules. Her advice is always clear balanced and practical.

Kristine Stave, Global COO Lifebox

You have been a fount of useful information and a real help as we recruited to a new position via internal promotion, overhauled and reviewed our HR policies and worked through our GDPR policies and processes. I'd also be delighted to recommend you as a trainer as the whole team felt your GDPR training last year was not only hugely informative, but also very engaging.

Tracey James, The Business Train

Mary delivered GDPR training sessions for a number of clients and her knowledge of the subject and HR matters in general is fantastic. She is incredibly professional and has a natural warmth about her, enabling her to work with all personalities across an organisation. She is extremely engaging and has great integrity, I found Mary always delivered over and above the given remit and we always received excellent feedback from the teams. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Mary to any organisation looking for someone to assist with HR or training. There are a lot of people out there in the HR world, but if you are looking for someone who stands out from the rest, then Mary is the person.

Gerald Alexander, Middlesex Pharmaceutical Group

I have known Mary for over 9 years and during that time have used her HR expertise in three different companies. Some of the areas she has provided support with are: TUPE, redundancy, pay benchmarking, change to terms and conditions, provision of ad hoc HR advice and more recently policy work, contracts of employment and GDPR for Middlesex Pharmaceutical Group. I have always found her to be engaging, responsive to our requirements and solutions focused. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mary to any organisation looking for support with HR.

Irfan Ali, Ealing CVS

Mary ran an employment landscape and review session for the Hounslow Voice Network covering the furlough scheme, redundancy and variation of contracts. Mary’s expert knowledge and insight into the areas covered in the session was extremely good and the materials presented a perfect crash course for those dealing with employment matters during the COVID pandemic.

Melba Morgan, Director, TML Care Solutions Ltd

As a small care service we do not employ HR services in house. To ensure we comply with ever more complicated employment law, we appointed Blue Allium to assist us with a redundancy situation and also to put all new contracts in place together with GDPR. Working with Mary was relaxed and easy as she made sure that all information I needed was to hand. She regularly updates me on changes that might be relevant to our business. For a personal, professional, reliable service I would thoroughly recommend Blue Allium.

Adrian Andrew, Director, Andrew Pipework Services Ltd

As an SME we don’t need have the requirement for a full time HR department. With many changes in legislation, especially as Coronavirus brought in challenges, it was comforting to be able to pick up the phone to Blue Allium HR. All our queries were handled in an efficient and informative manner, ensuring we could keep within the law. Mary kept in touch, regularly gave us updates that might affect our Company and turned around requested information within a very short time frame. This enabled us to continue to concentrate on what we do best as a Company and not worry about falling foul of employment law.
We have subsequently used Blue Allium to support our recruitment process with contracts, GDPR and would have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Claire Ward, Director, Capewells

I first worked with Mary in 2016 when she was engaged by Pharmacy Voice, the umbrella trade body for community pharmacy trade associations, when I was Chair of the Board. As we did not have an internal HR team, Mary provided ad hoc advice to the CEO where required. This involved the preparation of standard HR policies and appropriate reviews. She was extremely efficient and easy to work with. I personally worked more closely with Mary during 2016/2017 when she was engaged specifically to support the closing down of the organisation and the arrangements in relation to our staff which included TUPE to two different organisations and redundancies. The process was complicated and working with a board that was in a difficult place following the decision to wind up the organisation. Mary provided calm and clear advice, supporting myself and the Board to take the necessary decisions and ensure the protection of staff where possible.

Testament to the good experience that I had with Mary during my time at Pharmacy Voice, I engaged her services when I moved to my role as CEO of the Institute for Collaborative Working. Again, this was a small organisation without a dedicated HR function. Mary provided a suite of HR policies and reviewed our current arrangements. Her services are appropriately tailored to the organisation, especially when these are small or niche organisations looking for additional support.

Wendy Blake-Ranken, WBR Consulting

I have known Mary and her work for over 15 years. Mary is highly skilled and knowledgeable in HR, employment law and employment relations. She brings a pragmatic and ‘can do’ approach to her work. Mary brings new perspectives and questions the status quo where it is helpful to do so. She builds strong relationships with everyone she works with. Not only does Mary possess great HR skills but she is also an experienced payroll practitioner and a specialist in GDPR. I have no hesitation in recommending Mary.

Colin Baldock, Equity Release and later Life Specialist

Mary assisted a family member who was undergoing a redundancy consultation after 20 years’ service with their employer. As with most people facing the prospect of redundancy it can be an emotional and uncertain time, but Mary was extremely supportive and efficient in providing advice and guidance throughout the process.

We found Mary to be very professional and articulate, but she also has a warm and friendly demeanour which helped make the process much easier. I would highly recommend Mary to anyone looking for assistance on HR matters.

Tracey James - Principal, Symphony Support Services

I have worked with Mary on several projects over the past 5 years, including workplace training, policy Implementation and redundancy consultation support. Mary has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of HR and has a unique ability to connect with people at all levels of the workforce/organisation.

I use Mary’s vast experience and expertise for my clients and in addition to the GDPR training provided, she has been instrumental in creating staff handbooks and policies and advising on contracts of employment.

The role of an HR consultant can be challenging at times and Mary has always dealt with any difficult situation with absolute professionalism and Integrity. For any small business without an HR function requiring advice, training and support I would highly recommend Mary.
